We have just been notified that some of our members are being targeted by fraudsters claiming to be North East Welch FCU.
The scammers appear to be using our phone number. They state that they are with Falcon, calling on behalf of North East Welch FCU’s Fraud Department. They will ask you to verify the last eight digits of your NEWFCU Debit Card as well as other personal information. If you receive a call like this, hang up immediately and call us at either 814-725-8190 (North East) or 716-326-4200 (Westfield), and we will assist you with protecting your information and money!
When our Fraud Department calls you, it will be from a phone number ending in 2440. They will only ask you to verify your name, the last four digits of your card, and to verify transactions to see if they are fraudulent. They will never ask you to verify your PIN or Social Security Number.
